These are photos from the first year I experienced Portland, Oregon, from our first vacation trip out
in the spring, to when we officially moved at the end of summer. One difference between these and other
city photo albums on here is the lack of skyscraper or crowded city street shots, for the reason that
Portland doesn't have a lot of skyscrapers or crowded city streets, at least not like what I was used to
on the East Coast. Portland is essentially a town composed of a clean, compact downtown, surrounded by
a variety of equally neat, wonderful neighborhoods where people actually live and hang out. In addition,
there are a number of ridiculously great parks within city limits or pretty close by, and in our first
year here I was almost in a frenzy of wanting to explore all of them. One more essential fact:
flowers, general greenery, coffeeshops, and bikers abound everywhere.
