
Because this road was so cool - it winded through these mountains while following this little stream for miles and miles and seemed to be almost perpetually empty of any other drivers - I did some research right now via my trusty Road Atlas and Wikipedia, and have deduced that it's Highway 50 - one of those old legendary roads that stretched from coast to coast - and that little stream is actually the Arkansas River, whose headwaters lie probably not very far from where we stopped to take this picture. (Since I am only recalling the route we took through Colorado on a distant memory, I hope that this information is right, or else I'll feel a little silly.) |
