Even though the islands of Hawaii are really pretty small places, there exists a surprising number of cars. Honolulu, for instance, is practically overrun with car dealerships. Consequently, there also exist a large amount of run down cars on the sides of roads around the islands, which no one seems to do much about, which locals call "flowerpots." It was in Hanapepe (I think) where we found this colorful display of someone making the nickname literal.
