When you were on flat land in Hawaii, this is really all you saw: sugarcane. (Although to be honest, this could just be high grass for all I know; being pretty ignorant in the world of sugarcane, I really don't know, but it all looks pretty similar. This is probably just because I really didn't know much about Hawaii before I went, but I was fascinated by how much sugarcane there was. Most other large-scale agricultural pursuits have apparently been phased out--and perhaps, at least environmentally, for the better.) |
