So, this is a banyan tree in Lahaina. It's somewhat famous, and for good reason, because this is without a doubt THE CRAZIEST TREE I HAVE EVER SEEN. Although it looks like there are several trees in this square, really it is just one. Banyan trees have the weird ability to just sprout out roots on their branches, which can then go back into the ground to spout new trunks. Meaning, you could trace a branch that started from one trunk, and it'll run straight into another separate trunk - not just tangled, everything is connected. It's really pretty baffling. To me, at least.
